“Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
hear me, that your soul may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.
Isaiah 55:1-3
When God is showing me something, He repeats Himself over and over. Last night I was directed to Psalm 54 for something and today I took it to the gym to read more. As I turned the page, Psalm 55 verse one jumped off the page and I thought...ahhhhh, more water for my thirsty soul. But He also added wine and milk. Wine speaks of joy and milk of growth. That's precisely what I get every time I go to the water of His Word for refreshing...I leave with joy and growth as well as refreshment and cleansing. Praise His name!
Why would God, as big as He is, take the time to speak so precisely to me, as tiny as I am. One word: Love. Almost ten years ago the Lord but a series of people and events into my life to draw me into His Kingdom. I remember asking one of those people why He did all that. Her response: Because He loves you that much. He loves you that much too. Is He moving things around in your life and stirring in you soul today? Are you thirsty? If so, come buy and drink. It is free, purchased by God Himself.
